CSK vs SRH: Top highlights

Coming in to bat first at their home ground, Chennai put on a mammoth total of 212 runs, which eventually did turn out to be way too big for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad led from the front with a 98 run innings (off 54 deliveries) to provide a flying start to the Chennai Super Kings, until he was eventually dismissed by T Natarajan ahead of his half century. The Chennai Super Kings skipper also jumped up significantly on the IPL Orange Cap list, getting to the 2nd spot with 447 runs in the 9 games played this season at an average of 63 and a strike of 149.

Meanwhile, Daryl Mitchelll also played a crucial role on Sunday, scoring 52 runs off 32 deliveries and helping take the CSK over 200.

In reply, the aggresssive batting pair of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head opened the batting for Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, their stay on the crease was short lived as the left handers were dismissed on successive deliveries by Tushar Deshpande in the 2nd over of the match. Since then, it was a downward slide for the SRH with only Aiden Markram (32) managing to breach the 30 run mark and the team getting all out on a score of 134. Notably, this is the second straight defeat for the SRH after they were handed a 35 run defeat by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their last encounter.
